(15) Elimination - Trash Can

Use your imaginary bin to discard hindering thoughts, biased prejudices, stressful situations, addictions of any kind, wasteful habits, junk foods, unnecessary possessions, people or things that no longer serve your purpose.
Make your own list then enjoy the emotionally healing effects of elimination.
The Rune of Elimination is your anti-attachment ambassador. It is counselling you to give serious thought as to how you can rid yourself of superfluous dross - physical, emotional and environmental.
Now is the time to address negative thinking, emotional stress and poor-quality actions which populate your day-to-day world.
We all entertain hindering thoughts and self-sabotaging activities, it’s part of being human so there’s no need to beat yourself up over this. Just know that when you eliminate mental obstructions and adopt a 'can-do' attitude, you radically alter your life for the better.
Likewise, this Rune requires you to undertake an inventory of your material possessions and question the extent of your emotional attachment thereto. In particular, pay attention to items surplus to requirement. How did you come to own them? Why do you keep them? What does all your accumulated 'stuff' mean to you?
Dealing with clutter is just one part of this exercise, alongside banishing the psychological props which undermine excessive 'holding on'.
Letting go of material stuff is extremely therapeutic, as is tackling the craving addiction of buying more and more goods which are inessential 'wants' rather than essential 'needs'.
Is there anything you need to eliminate with regard to your interactions with family, friends or work colleagues? This is another area where you may be hanging on to attachments which no longer allow you to flourish.
Are there unhelpful people in your life who drain your energy? If so, you are advised to change the dynamics of such relationships or permanently remove them from your life.
How about your approach to waste? The old adage ‘waste not – want not’ is so true. This Rune is a wake-up call to do your bit for the good of local and global environments – being a custodian of the environment is every citizen’s duty, including yours.
Finally you are encouraged to check personal bodily elimination – exhalation, perspiration, defaecation, urination etc. If found to be underperforming, take remedial action fast - effective expulsion is crucial for health.
The tension-cleansing effects of a good cry fittingly reveal the purging qualities of elimination.
This Rune belongs to The Perseverance Set which comprises tenacious qualities for harnessing utmost determination, time and again, to stay on track.
